Winter Hike Series
This is one of our very popular themed hikes! Grab your ugly sweaters and Santa hats and get ready to enjoy some hot cocoa and great views at the summit of Two Trees! Holiday dress encouraged but not mandatory.
To date we've had over 4000 guests visit Rancho Ventura for our hikes to Two Trees! The Winter Hike Series will begin at our trail route from Barlow Canyon and will lead up to Two Trees.
About the Event:
Guests will meet at the Entrance to Barlow Canyon off Foothill Road. Due to the nature of the terrain the hikes can be considered moderately difficult and out-and-back up and down steep slopes. The distance from Barlow Canyon to Two trees is approximately 1.5 miles with an elevation gain of 716 feet over the course of the hike four an out and back trip of around 3 miles. Average hike times take between an hour to an hour an a half.
We ask all attending to:
Wear proper attire for the weather on the given day.
Wear appropriate footwear.
Pace themselves during the duration of the hike according to their ability.
Bring water or a sports drink for hydration.
Bring a camera for photo opportunities.
Guests will get to visit the permanently preserved land in the Ventura Hillsides, take in incredible views overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Channel Islands and the Cities of Ventura and Oxnard, and the Los Padres National Forest and Topa Top date we’ve had over 4000 guests visit Rancho Ventura for our hikes to Two Trees! We are changing things up a bit- The Fall Hike Series will begin on a new trail route in Barlow Canyon and will lead up to Two Trees. This canyon is also part of the land stewarded by Rancho Ventura. Join us for a different but equally enjoyable hike to our beloved community landmark. This hike is a Halloween Themed hike and guests are encouraged to dress up in costume!!!
Hikes will be rescheduled in the event of bad weather including rain or extreme heat. All guests are requires to sign waiver of liability at the onset of each outing. Hikes are limited to 150 guests. Parking space is limited to 40 vehicles so guests are urged to consider carpooling. Summer hikes may be cancelled due to extreme head events.
